Selection process

CSVT Practice

Should you be successful in the test, you will be asked to complete the full application form. Please complete your CV to include your work history, experience and qualifications.

Your CV will be assessed against the essential technical and experience criteria detailed in the attached Job Description.

Then finally, please complete a personal statement (in no more than 500 words) to outline your skills and experience for the role and provide details of how you meet the following essential experience criteria:

  • Strong organisational and time management skills and the ability to work quickly, prioritising personal workload effectively.
  • Experience of working as part of a team to deliver common goals.

If we receive a high number of applications, we reserve the right to complete an initial sift on the lead criteria, as below:

  • Strong organisational and time management skills and the ability to work quickly, prioritising personal workload effectively.

Please review your application form before clicking ‘submit’ – once you have submitted, you will not be able to amend your application. Ensure your application form is received by the closing date for receipt of applications – this is 23:55pm on the advertised date.

The sift will take place shortly after the closing date and interviews will be held week commencing - 21st September 2026

If successful at shortlisting stage, you will be invited to attend a face to face/remote MS Teams candidate led interview.

The panel will ask you to come to the interview to have examples based on the behaviours listed in the job description:

  • Delivering at Pace
  • Working Together
  • Communicating and Influencing
  • Making Effective Decisions

They are looking to understand what you did, how you did it and what the outcome was from the actions you undertook. The panel will then ask follow-up questions based on your examples to assess how well you demonstrate the behaviours being tested at this stage.

Ensure your application form is received by the closing date for receipt of applications – this is 11:55pm on the advertised date.

HMLR is accredited to the Disability Confident Scheme (DCS), which denotes organisations which have a positive attitude towards disabled people. DCS applicants who meet the minimum criteria at shortlisting may be invited to attend an interview. There may be occasions where it is not practicable or appropriate to interview all DCS applicants that meet the minimum criteria for the job. For example, when we receive high number of applications. In these circumstances we may select the DCS applicants who best meet the minimum criteria for the job, rather than all of those that meet the minimum criteria, as we would do for non-disabled applicants.

Feedback will only be provided if you attend an interview or assessment.
