  • Full time roles consist of 37 hours per week. Whilst we welcome applications from those looking to work with us on a part time basis, there is a business requirement for the successful candidate to be able to work at least 30 hours per week.
  • This role is suitable for hybrid working, which is a non-contractual arrangement where a combination of workplace and home-based working can be accommodated subject to business requirements.
  • The expectation at present is a minimum of 60% of your working time a month will be spent at either your designated workplace (one of the locations cited in the advert) or, when required for business reasons, in another office/work location. There may be occasions where you are required to attend above the minimum expectation.

Job description

DVLA's IT Services (ITS) Directorate is on an exciting transformation journey, playing a key role in delivering seamless digital services and exceptional customer experiences across the agency. We are looking for a proactive and organised individual to join our team as a Recruitment Manager, supporting the attraction and delivery of high-quality talent into our IT workforce.

As a Recruitment Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end recruitment process, working closely with the Recruitment Specialist, hiring managers, and external stakeholders to deliver successful recruitment campaigns. This is a rewarding role that offers the opportunity to make a real impact by helping to attract talented individuals into critical IT roles across the organisation.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of their work and is looking to develop their career in recruitment, resourcing, and workforce management. The role provides valuable exposure to a wide range of HR and recruitment activities, helping you build transferable skills and expertise that will support your future career development.

Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Coordinating and supporting recruitment campaigns from planning through to appointment
  • Building strong relationships with hiring managers and keeping them informed of recruitment progress
  • Communicating with candidates throughout the recruitment process, ensuring a positive candidate experience
  • Scheduling and coordinating sift panels, interviews, and assessment activities
  • Maintaining accurate recruitment records and management information
  • Supporting the onboarding of successful candidates
  • Ensuring all recruitment activities are carried out in line with DVLA, DfT, and Civil Service Recruitment Principles

The selection process for this role will be:

Stage 1: Sift of CV and personal statement

Stage 2: Interview

You must be successful at each stage to progress to the next stage.

Stage 1: Sift

At sift, you will be assessed against the following Success Profile elements:

Experience – you will be asked to provide a CV (unlimited wordcount) and personal statement (750-word count).

Please provide evidence of your Experience of the following:

1. Managing or supporting end-to-end recruitment processes to ensure vacancies are filled in a timely and compliant manner

2. Communicating effectively with a range of stakeholders and candidates to build and maintain positive relationships.

3. Organising and prioritising a varied workload while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Should a large number of applications be received, an initial sift may be conducted using the lead Success Profile element, Experience point 1. Candidates who pass the initial sift may be progressed to a full sift or progressed straight to interview.

The sift will take place 28/09/26

Should we receive a high volume of quality applications, we may invite a shortlist of the highest scoring candidates to interview. This means that some applications that meet the required standard could be placed ‘on hold’ after the sift and invited to interview if the vacant position(s) remain unfilled. You will be notified if your application is being put ‘on hold’ once the sift has been completed. Following interviews, any applicants remaining on hold will be notified by the panel of the next steps regarding their application.

Pre-employment Checking
