  • Some of your responsibilities will include:
  • Coordinate and support NCVPP business activities, projects and organisational initiatives, maintaining oversight of delivery progress and supporting effective coordination across teams.
  • Provide governance support for boards, meetings and working groups, including coordinating agendas, maintaining action logs, taking notes and tracking agreed actions.
  • Manage the NCVPP mailbox and information management processes, ensuring enquiries, actions and records are managed efficiently and accurately.
  • Support onboarding processes for new starters and help maintain effective business continuity arrangements across the Centre.
  • Provide administrative and organisational support for team activities, events, presentations and procurement-related tasks.
  • To be successful in this role you'll need:
  • Experience of coordinating tasks, projects or activities across a team, department or business area.
  • Experience of managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality work in a busy environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate records and track progress.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, internal and external stakeholders, supporting coordination and delivery across organisational boundaries.
  • Experience of managing information and business administration processes effectively.

National Centre for Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) & Public Protection (PP)

Would you like to join a skilled and dedicated team of professionals who are committed to reducing the prevalence of VAWG and Public Protection (PP) offences across England and Wales, as part of a wider-system approach?

This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to join the National Centre for Violence Against Women and Girls & Public Protection (NCVPP) within the College of Policing. The NCVPP provides support to forces in tackling the threat of VAWG and PP and improving our services to victims. You will also work with academics, victim groups and across Government to support our ambition and to ensure our work reflects the lived experiences of diverse communities.

We are working to continually train and upskill our officers and staff with the specialist knowledge and expertise required to carry out their roles effectively. We also continue to develop programmes, expanding on existing best practice with a focus on perpetrators and preventing life-long harm to victims.

​​This role provides vital business, governance and coordination support to the National Centre for Violence Against Women and Girls and Public Protection (NCVPP), working within the Centre Development and Corporate Service (CDCS) function .The NCVPP Support Officer plays an important role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of CDCS and wider NCVPP, coordinating business activities, supporting governance processes, maintaining information systems and helping to ensure delivery remains organised, efficient and aligned to strategic priorities.

The role works across a wide range of teams and stakeholders, supporting collaboration, sharing knowledge and good practice, and helping to maintain effective business processes. The post holder will provide practical support across governance, project coordination, onboarding, information management and organisational initiatives. A key aspect of the role is maintaining oversight of business activity, ensuring actions are tracked, information is accessible, governance arrangements are supported, and colleagues have the tools and information they need to deliver effectively. The role will also support continuous improvement by helping to develop consistent processes and approaches across the NCVPP and contributing to a positive and collaborative working environment.

The role entails travel to College of Policing sites and partner organisations across England and Wales.

  • serving police officers substantive in the rank of PC. All applicants must have the support of their Chief Officer which must be of NPCC rank, i.e., CC, ACC or DCC and this must accompany an application.
  • serving police staff at the equivalent rank of PC who have their chief officer's approval. Chief Officer’s approval must be of NPCC rank, i.e., CC, ACC or DCC. Approval for a secondment must accompany an application.

For Fixed Term Contracts:

Whilst this fixed term contract is offered on the understanding that it will only last as long as the stated contract length, there could be a possibility that it could be extended or made permanent should circumstances allow.

Internal College applicants who are at risk of redundancy or in need of redeployment and pass the recruitment process, will be given priority over other applicants.

An initial sift based on the lead ‘Experience of coordinating projects, tasks or business activities across teams or workstream’ may be held if a large number of applications are received. Candidates who pass the initial sift may be progressed to a full sift or progressed straight to assessment/interview.
