International Policy Analyst

As an International Policy Analyst, you’ll play an important role in supporting the UK’s parliamentary democracy. Your work will help Members carry out their responsibilities effectively — contributing to something bigger than any one role.

You’ll be part of a collaborative community, working alongside colleagues from a wide range of professions. Together, we make Parliament happen.

You’ll be based on the Parliamentary Estate in Westminster — a unique working environment shaped by history and powered by the people who work here today.

What you’ll be doing

If you are looking for a role where your work will have real impact, this is an exciting opportunity to join a team at the forefront of international policy and parliamentary scrutiny. You’ll be leading on high-quality research and analysis of international affairs policy, as well as delivering written and verbal briefings and organising evidence sessions with a range of stakeholders.

You’ll have the opportunity to work across different policy areas covered by our four internationally-focused committees: International Relations and Defence, Northern Ireland Scrutiny, International Agreements and European Affairs. Examples of recent and ongoing inquiry topics include the UK’s future relationship with the US, the UK-EU reset, the Chagos Agreement, and Article 2 of the Windsor Framework. You’ll be supporting the work of the committees and will work closely with senior stakeholders within Parliament and experts in the field.

This job is broadly open to the following groups:

• nationals of the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein and family members of those nationalities who have made a valid application for settled or pre-settled status under the European Union Settlement Scheme (EUSS)
• individuals with limited leave to remain or indefinite leave to remain who were eligible to apply for EUSS on or before 31 December 2020
• Turkish nationals, and certain family members of Turkish nationals, who have accrued the right to work in the Civil Service
