Job summary

The Facilities Manager (FM) will be required to take the lead in delivery of Hard and Soft Facilities management for designated areas within European Support Group (ESG).

They will have to manage stakeholder, supplier (both with the UK delivery organisation, Industry Partners and Local Contractors)) and host nation interfaces, solving a range of problems with a degree of independence and communicating issues simply, quickly and accurately.

The C2 FM will be delegated through ESG authorities and responsibilities commensurate with their experience, qualification and business needs and will be required to exercise Commercial and Financial control over Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) ESG FM works by the team.

Assist the Head FM with the development of the Command Infrastructure Delivery Plan (CIDP) and assist the end user in delivery of Infrastructure supporting the end user as DIOs technical Subject Matter Experts (SME) from the development of the SoN until the practical completion certificate.

Assist in the development of the financial planning/forecasting. This is to include budget review with the Head FM and Business Support Manager at each Accounting Period.

Management and inspection of all FM works in conjunction with the Assurance Manager and IP if applicable to ensure work delivered meets the required Specification and offers value for money.

The tour length is 3-years.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job description

  • Manage compliance requirements including statutory, regulatory and local obligations, ensuring all certification, records, asset data, and maintenance documentation are accurate and up to date.
  • Manage and assure the delivery of hard FM services across the allocated area, including monitoring condition, safety, and performance through inspections and assurance checks.
  • Oversee the daily operation of the DIO Helpdesk, ensuring faults are logged, prioritised and responded to in line with agreed service levels.
  • Plan, coordinate and oversee planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs and minor works, managing contractor performance and ensuring service standards are met.
  • Undertake site visits with LMS, inspections and assurance checks to ensure services are delivered to the required standard.
  • Support budget monitoring and contribute to value-for-money decisions in relation to facilities services and minor works.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues, service risks and opportunities to improve delivery.
  • Undertake all relevant training in the use of Integrated Management System (IMS) and represent ESG as Point of contact (POC) for all continuous improvement of the IMS system.
  • Support the Overseas Prime Contract Senior Facilities Manager with IMS tasks.
