Job summary
The Ministry of Defence, Civil Service workforce is diverse, with many different functions and professions ranging from cyber and digital transformation, police officers, security guards, trainers, human resources, teachers, psychologists, storekeepers, and policy secretariat staff to support the British Army.
This role will act as the central point of contact for 16 Infantry Regimental Headquarters (RHQs) and Civil Service staff within Headquarters Infantry. Working closely with senior military leaders, RHQ staff and Regimental Secretaries, you will ensure that key stakeholders are kept informed of developments, activities and workforce matters across the Infantry RHQs.
The role covers a broad range of responsibilities, including supporting Civil Service workforce management and recruitment across the RHQs, contributing to activities that support regimental effectiveness such as community engagement, Infantry museums and Army recruitment initiatives, and providing advice and coordination on Civil Service matters, including disciplinary cases.
The successful candidate will be based at Headquarters Infantry in Warminster. This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

- Essential skills required:
- Experience in organising high-profile events to deliver VIP and VVIP support, ceremonial activities, catering, and access coordination.

- Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- An ability to think through complicated situations and produce a plan of action.
- Ability to anticipate issues, identify risks and take proactive action to mitigate them.
- Desirable skills:
- A detailed knowledge of the Infantry and its regiments, including antecedent Regiments.
- Service in the Army, preferably in the Infantry.
- Experience in operations and working to Senior Officers.
- Management of significant budgets.
- Full UK Driving Licence.

Job description
As a trusted advisor, you will support senior leaders by coordinating information, managing relationships and ensuring effective communication across the RHQ network. You will play a key role in coordinating and aligning RHQ activity in support of operational readiness, ensuring contributions from across the RHQs are effectively integrated and delivered. This is a varied and influential role at the heart of Headquarters Infantry, requiring excellent organisational skills, strong stakeholder management and the ability to coordinate multiple priorities in a complex environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Act as the focal point within Headquarters Infantry (HQ Infantry) for all matters relating to the Infantry Regimental Headquarters (RHQs), including Civil Service workforce management and recruitment.
- Potential opportunity to undertake line management responsibilities in the future, including supporting performance management and staff development in line with MOD and Civil Service policies.
- Provide Colonel Infantry with regular updates on Infantry Regimental activities and developments.
- Maintain regular and effective communication with the Infantry RHQs and key stakeholders.
- Act as the HQ Infantry lead for coordinating RHQ involvement in national commemorative events.
- Lead on the organisation, coordination and delivery of RHQ reviews, ensuring outputs are effectively managed and communicated.
- Serve as the HQ Infantry lead for Data Protection matters.
- Act as the key point of contact between the Infantry RHQs and Colonel Infantry on Northern Ireland and other operational legacy matters.
- Lead for HQ Infantry on the development, coordination and delivery of RHQ roles in support of warfighting activities.
