Job summary
Ofgem is Great Britain’s independent energy regulator. We are at the forefront of change across the energy sector, building a secure, affordable and future-ready energy system and ensuring Britain’s networks deliver for consumers while supporting the transition to Net Zero. Ofgem works on behalf of energy consumers to ensure that every household and business in the UK can rely on a safe, affordable and environmentally sustainable energy supply. We are looking for Analysts to join us and provide the insight that will help shape how network companies are regulated and held to account.
We are offering three permanent roles with the chance to contribute at a pivotal point in the evolution of Britain’s energy networks. One role will sit within our Electricity Transmission team and two within our Gas Transmission and Distribution team, giving successful candidates the chance to work on nationally significant price control activity. You’ll help influence regulatory decisions, supporting work that protects consumers while preparing networks for the demands of Clean Power 2030 and Net Zero 2050.
Ofgem has a culture of inclusion that encourages, supports and celebrates the diverse voices and experiences of our colleagues. It fuels innovation and helps ensure we best represent the consumers and the communities we serve.
This is an exciting chance to contribute to analysis that will influence how network companies perform, invest and deliver for consumers. You’ll work alongside colleagues across policy, finance, engineering and legal to help turn complex evidence into clear insights and better regulatory outcomes.

Job description
We are looking for candidates with strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, excellent communication and collaboration capabilities and the confidence to work with complex data and challenge findings effectively.

You will also work across Ofgem and externally to shape the next five-year Price Control period (RIIO-3), ensuring effective monitoring translates into consumer protection. This analysis will inform Ofgem’s future gas distribution/transmission and electricity transmission regulatory designs and support the ongoing development and implementation of longer‑term price control policy.
You will also support team working across the wider Networks Directorate and on cross‑Ofgem projects requiring your skills and expertise.
