Job description

About the Role

As Technical and Capital Accountant, you'll play a key role in ensuring Student Loans Company's financial reporting is accurate, compliant and supported by strong financial controls. Working within the Financial Accounting team, you'll provide technical accounting expertise across areas including capital accounting, prepayments and balance sheet management, helping to maintain the integrity of financial information and support effective stewardship of public money.

You'll use your professional judgement to assess accounting treatments, advise colleagues on capitalisation and reporting requirements, and ensure financial transactions are supported by robust evidence and controls. This is an opportunity to apply and further develop your technical accounting skills in a complex public sector environment, while making a direct contribution to the quality, reliability and transparency of SLC's financial reporting.
