Job summary

We are recruiting two Stakeholder Communications Officers. The role sits within the Policy and Communications team. Depending on your portfolio, you will report to either the Communications Manager or the Policy and Stakeholder Relations Manager.

Stakeholder Communications Officers lead on communication activity with local authorities, care providers, MPs and other external stakeholders. This is a varied, hands-on communications role with real scope to shape how a public interest organisation tells its story and engages with its audiences.

Postholders are given a defined portfolio of work, but all share a core set of responsibilities and work closely together across the team. One postholder will focus primarily on publications and content, while the other will focus on stakeholder communication and relationship management. Both will work flexibly according to business need and may, subject to management discretion, operate across the full range of stakeholder communications activity

What they’re looking for

  • All applicants should possess the following knowledge and skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and accessibly for a range of audiences and channels.
  • A strong understanding of communications principles, including content production and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience of producing content for external audiences across a number of communications channels, such as newsletters, websites, social media or publications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with a range of internal and external contacts.
  • Able to manage and prioritise a varied workload, meeting deadlines and maintaining quality.
  • A qualification in communications, public relations, journalism or a related discipline is desirable. Significant experience in delivering communications or stakeholder engagement through employment or voluntary work will also be considered.
