When you join us, you'll be joining an organisation that gives you the opportunity to make a difference to people's lives.

What they’re looking for

  • As the successful candidate, you will be a qualified lawyer with strong technical legal expertise and an interest in public service. You will have the ability to understand public sector policy drivers and work effectively within the framework of a statutory non-departmental public body.
  • You will also be able to demonstrate:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to influence and build effective working relationships.
  • Strong analytical skills and sound professional judgement.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work to tight deadlines.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with strong attention to detail.
  • We welcome applications from candidates with experience gained in private practice, the public sector or an in-house legal environment.
  • Experience of legal policy development within a regulatory, public sector or government environment would be particularly welcome. Candidates should be able to demonstrate an understanding of how legal advice supports effective policymaking and delivery, and an ability to provide practical, solutions-focused advice in a complex and evolving regulatory landscape.

Job description

As a Solicitor, you will work on a diverse range of legal matters, helping to shape policy, support regulatory activity and ensure that RSH exercises its statutory functions effectively. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation you will help ensure that legal considerations are effectively integrated into decision-making and service delivery. This is an opportunity to apply your legal skills to work that makes a real difference. You will join a supportive and collaborative team and play an important role in helping RSH deliver its purpose of promoting a viable, efficient and well-governed social housing sector that can deliver homes which meet a range of needs.
