As a Registration Inspector, you’ll help make sure only providers who meet the required standards can deliver health and social care services, helping to keep people safe and well cared for.

You’ll play an important role in assessing whether organisations and individuals are ready to provide regulated health and social care services. Your work will directly support safe, high-quality care for people across the region.

As a Registration Inspector in Operations, you might get the chance to:

Lead the assessment of a complex registration application for a large provider, reviewing evidence from multiple sources to determine whether services meet regulatory requirements.

Work with specialist colleagues to support decisions that protect people using services.

  • Experience working in a health and/or social care setting where you have used professional judgement to make decisions that affect service quality, safety, or compliance.
  • Experience analysing information from different sources, assessing evidence, and using this to make well-reasoned decisions in a risk-based environment.
  • Experience managing a busy workload, meeting deadlines or performance targets, and working with a range of stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Experience of working with autistic people and people with a learning disability.

Job description

The role

You’ll be key in helping us deliver our work. In this role, you’ll:

Assess registration applications: Review applications from providers and managers, analyse evidence, and make recommendations on registration decisions, variations, and related regulatory actions.

Manage information and records: Maintain accurate records, update systems, and ensure clear audit trails that support decisions and meet CQC requirements.

Work with partners and colleagues: Collaborate with inspection teams, legal advisers, specialists, and external stakeholders to share information, identify risks, and support informed decision-making
