Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well‑established Psychology and Programmes team working primarily with a PCoSO prisoner cohort at HMP Wakefield, a Category A prison within the Long Term and High Security Estate.

The postholder will have regular, meaningful contact with prisoners, play an active role in supporting the establishment’s vision and values, and contribute directly to helping individuals progress on their rehabilitation journey. Working within a multidisciplinary environment, the role offers a rewarding chance to make a positive impact in a challenging but supportive setting.

As part of the interview process you will be asked to deliver a 10-minute facilitation exercise on one of the following topics:

  • Explore the approaches you could take to solve a problem
  • Explore the potential difficulties of working with group members and how you might manage these
  • Explore what makes an effective group learning experience

You should attend your interview prepared to deliver your facilitation exercise. Please consider the following:

  • The topic must be one of the 3 identified topics above; you can choose which one of these to complete your presentation on
  • The exercise should last no longer than 10 minutes
  • It must be interactive in style i.e. engage the panel in suitable discussions and activities, balanced with demonstrating your knowledge of the topic
  • You should ask the panel questions relating to your topic where appropriate
  • Ensure that they have understood what you have delivered
